How we publish

Editorial and evidence methodology

Breath-hold content can affect real training decisions. We separate product facts from scientific evidence, preserve safety limits, and record when volatile information was checked.

Product claims

Features are checked against the current app and official store listings. Pricing, ratings, platform support, and usage numbers require a dated source. We do not treat downloads, sessions, ratings, and active users as interchangeable metrics.

Scientific claims

We prefer systematic reviews, consensus guidance, official safety bodies, and primary research. A claim must retain the studied population, protocol, outcome, and uncertainty. Evidence for slow breathing, static apnea, intermittent hypoxia, and freediving is not combined as though those interventions were identical.

Safety

In-water breath holding always requires a trained buddy. Hyperventilation is not presented as a way to extend a hold. General information does not replace medical advice, certified freediving instruction, or rescue training.

Comparisons

BreathHold is disclosed as the publisher whenever our app appears in a comparison. Competitor features are checked against official pages on a named date. We avoid rankings based on ratings or prices that vary by storefront.

Corrections

Material revisions receive an updated date. If you find an error, email [email protected] with the page and source.
